Cannot authenticate mail server successfully

When building with IntelliJ I got to the setup wizard. But IntelliJ shows "Cannot authenticate mail server successfully. Make sure your inputs are correct" despite me having typed the correct email. What is the solution?

If you use the gmail, then you can not just enter gmail  and its password. You should use an App password as this link instructs https://mkyong.com/java/javamail-api-sending-email-via-gmail-smtp-example/

With other email than gmail, then you should consult the email provider to fix this issue
